We've been notified that our foundation fabric is a perfect liner for face masks for added protection.  So, we've tried to make this as simple as possible.  We have printed the pattern on our foundation fabric and are posting the instructions here on our blog.

We will be donating the foundations to anyone who wants to make these masks. If you're reading this on the blog, just email me with your address to deb@ezpiecing.com

If you're reading this from our mailing list, just reply to this email with your address and the number of people you need this for.

There are two disclaimers:

  1. Our foundation fabric isn't the same material as N95 material; the virus itself can penetrate the fabric. The way the virus propagates usually is by being part of saliva, mucus, etc. These larger particles are usually stopped by a mask, but there is no guarantee.
  2. When we run out of supplies, we are out. So, these are free while supplies last.

We are limited to mailing no more than 20 to any one address at a time.  All we ask is that if you ask for these foundations, you actually do make the masks with them.

And then, to show that we are all in this together, send us pictures of the ones you do make.  You can make them for yourselves or to donate to others who need them.  These are completely washable so they can be used over and over.  There is a double layer of the protective foundation fabric between the two layers of cotton fabric.  Of course, a tighter woven cotton is best.
