Home!
What a crazy ten days that was. It was a beautiful drive to Castle Rock, Colorado for our last show but the drive home was a disaster. We were delayed in getting home and its been non-stop since. Donald and Laura and the two boys are here with us until after Father's Day. I wish they were here all the time. Laura is so much help; getting me organized, stitching and keeping me on-track.
We are working on a king/queen size Pineapple Blossom right now. This is an easy block so even making a big quilt goes fast. And, in keeping with our theme this year making quilts from your stash, this is perfect. I have designed it to use five different colors so you can just pull fabrics in five color ways and go for it. Trust me, it can be a real work of art.
Pacific International Quilt Festival is in July this year. It is still at the Santa Clara Convention Center. I am not sure yet what our booth number is but as soon as I know, I will let you know.
Laura and I are busy getting quilts done and ready to hang, fabric kits cut and assembled and new patterns written for this show. I will also be teaching at PIQF this year. Wednesday (24th) I will be teaching Basic Foundation Piecing and on Thursday, I will be teaching an all-day class for Advanced Foundation Piecing. Our classes are always fun and I love seeing everyone's choices for the projects. We are making the Crazy Heart in the Basic class.
The Advanced Class will be the Ruby Star (48" x 48"). This is an awesome block that can be used as the center medallion of a quilt.
We will also be at the Quilt, Craft, Sew Festival in Sacramento August 8th to the 10th. This show is at the State Fairgrounds this year. I will be presenting a FREE seminar at this show. If you come to my seminar, you will get a block to make and a coupon that is good at the show only, for 10% off of your entire purchase at our booth. We hope to see a lot of you there!
At the end of August, we will be heading east. First to Madison, Wisconsin for the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show. This will be our first time at this show and we are really looking forward to it. This show is September 5th to the 7th at the Alliant Energy Center. From there, we will be going to the Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza in Oaks, Pennsylvania, September 12th to the 15th. We will once again be at the Original Quilt and Sew Festival in Fredericksburg, Virginia from September 26th to the 28th at the Fredericksburg Convention Center. We will remain in Fredericksburg after that to attend Donald's retirement from the United States Air Force after serving for 22 years. From there, we will head to Houston to finish out this year's quilt shows at Quilt Festival. A busy year this year.
And don't forget, this month's special is STARS. Most all patterns and packages of blocks that have the word "Star" in the title are on sale for 10% off when you enter the code STARBRIGHT10 at checkout. You can order as many times as you want this month, using the discount. This does not include fabric kits nor the pattern Log Cabin LoneStar. There might be another one or two that have been featured in previous months but it will show in the checkout after you enter the code.
In the meantime, HAPPY QUILTING!
