Yes, this month we are featuring Stripe Blocks, including the Roman Stripe blocks and Jelly Cake Patterns and two of our popular banners – the Boat Banner and Fish Banner as well as the Boat Blocks.  ALL of these work well as stash-busters.  The quilt at the top is one I have been working on off and on for several years.  I don't get a lot of chances to sew for myself but this one is one of my favorites.  When Laura was here last month, she pulled it out of the UFO bin and found about 100 more blocks that were half done.  They all had the neutral side done and a box full of the various colors cut into strips.  She took the whole thing home and is working on getting it finished.  Its not a pattern, just the blocks. When I look at this picture, I see so many different possibilities.  A 3-D effect just jumps out at me and makes me want to make another one!

All of these are on special this month.  Just remember at checkout you must put in the code SUMMERSTRIPES10 when checking out.  These specials are not advertised and are our special offering to our blog members.

Opposing Stripe Blocks 8" (4 blocks shown)

This Opposing Stripe Block is another great block for dipping into the stash.  And, again, there are so many different possibilities.  I promise that one day I will sit down and play with this block to see what can be done with it.  If any of you make these up, please share with us.

Speaking of sharing, I did a workshop in Los Banos a few weeks ago and had a great time.  It was such a great group of ladies and they all did so well.   We made the Geese Around the Crazy Heart Pattern.  Below are just a few of the beautiful hearts that were made in class.

I wanted to let you know that Julia McLeod will be in our booth at PIQF on Friday (July 26th) at 10:00 am (Booth #706).  We will be showing and talking about her latest design that we have published for her, as well as her new book that will be coming out in September.  Come by and grab one of her patterns and have her sign it!

Stars Aligned, Kaleidoscope Pineapple, Flying Circus

Now that Laura is back home in Virginia, you can watch her working on various projects of ours most every weekday morning on TikTok.  Sometimes she gets a little crazy and will do a pop-up sale for the day so you don't want to miss it.  To get notice of when she is going live, go to the bottom of our web page and click on the TikTok logo.

And don't forget, come by and see us at Pacific International Quilt Festival at the Santa Clara County Convention Center, July 24-27th.  I will be teaching two classes there:  Basic Foundation Piecing on Wednesday afternoon and Advanced Foundation Piecing all day on Thursday.  You can sign up on their website:  www.quiltfest.com.

We will also be in Sacramento for the QuiltCraftSewFestival at CalExpo August 8-10th.  I will be doing a free seminar at that show where you will get a free block and instructions.  I talk about how EZ Piecing and our leave-in foundations came to be and go over instructions for the block, the advantages of using our foundations plus a few little tips and tricks for all your quilting projects.  And, we always have live demos going on in our booth at all the shows we do.

Until next time, HAPPY QUILTING!
